The primary objective of this thesis is to develop a concept for virtualising applications on a server-based platform. This involves deciding whether applications should be used externally or made available internally. The aim is to reduce the administrative burden on the IT department and to make software deployment as straightforward as possible. However, the high level of flexibility enjoyed by the company's staff in using applications 'on demand' must not be overlooked. A secondary objective is to establish a licence management system within the company, which is essentially intended to enable the use of dynamic applications whilst minimising licence costs. Legal and commercial aspects must not be overlooked in this regard. Through this approach, the product licences acquired for applications can be managed and allocated to users.
