The book focuses its willingness to two concrete actions: at first, in identifying the different moments and stages through which has passed the process of institutionalization of the field of communication in Latin America since at least create a historical account the origin of the institutional processes of habituation and typing. In a second stage, to develop an approach to the structural characteristics and deep roots that define the production of knowledge of Latin American communication research.
