As the computer world developed, computers became partly small devices that almost everyone could easily own, and this allowed the transition from a centralized structure to a distributed structure. The development of computers in the information age has made it easier to produce and share information. Computer networks are the structures where information is transmitted and shared by connecting computer systems where information is produced and processed in the most efficient way. Two computers are said to be interconnected if they can exchange information. This connection is not only via copper wires; fiber optic cables, microwaves and communication satellites may also be used.
