This book has proven to me to be the best step-by-step guide to mastering basic arithmetic. It gives examples of every type as well as a sufficient number of practice problems. If the student follows the lessons, step-by-step, and applies the examples given, then there is no way he or she cannot pass basic mathematics tests.Computational Skills is a book which anyone who can read for understanding could gain practice and master arithmetic. I have used it to tutor high schoolers, jr. high schoolers, and grade schoolers as well as adults who need basic math brush-up skills.It is the practice problems which help to make the student more proficient. If a student gets stuck on a problem, all they need to do is find the corresponding practice problem to guide them.I have purchased this book 3 times and I am very disappointed that it is out-of-print, especially since I need it to tutor my 8 year old.
