Candidates for CompTIA A+ need to pass the 801 exam and also the 802 exam. The first exam tests for technical understanding of computer technology, networking and security. It also tests for communication skills and professionalism required of entry-level IT professionals. The second exam carries highly similar topics. In fact we think it is better off to study both together due to the difficulties in separating them. Network+ deals with foundation level knowledge on networking. A modern day A+ technician is expected to be network-aware anyway. You should therefore study BOTH together. There is no need to separate the respective topics - the knowledge items involved are inter-related.
