Some authorities see projects as mere activities while others see them as programmes of action. Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English defines a project as an important and carefully planned piece of work that is intended to build or produce something new. Alison, Project management is the application of processes, methods, skills, knowledge and experience to achieve specific project objectives according to the project acceptance criteria within agreed parameters. Project management has final deliverables that are constrained to a finite timescale and budget. PMI defines project management as "the use of specific knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to deliver something of value to people." In simple terms, project management means the process of leading a team to hit goals or complete deliverables within a set timeframe. Wikipedia states that Project management is the process of leading the work of a team to achieve all project goals within the given constraints. Project management involves project documentation, planning, tracking, and communication all with the goal of delivering work successfully within the constraints of time, scope, and budget.
