informative and inspirational

Mr. Bell provides interesting examples and explanations. This is definitely 1 of my favorite books on synchronicity. It's more intimate than Combs and Holland's "Synchronicity Through the Eyes of Science, Myth and the Trickster," but drier than "Soul Moments" or "There Are No Accidents" ... both of which have more examples.

Middleman...

Here is the book for those ready to believe in something other than"just" themselves. This compendium of carefully tho't out probabilites and experiences the author believes meet the criteria of the title, will if anything, convince you of your own powers to figure out what syncronicity means for your own life. This was what I was wondering how to do when I read Bell's ideology on the subject. Not a place to study advanced theory, but certainly fine for comfort and encouragement of the best sort.

New ways to think about coincidences

After reading another book that was essentially a collection of coincidences and being inspired to start a coincidence journal of my own, I picked up Bell's book to try to figure out what it all means. This is in many ways a scholarly book. Bell defines different types of coincidences and weaves in elements of Jung's theories, quantum mechanics and eastern religious thought to provide a framework for how to interpret these events. He gives interesting examples of coincidences and, unlike other books on coincidence I've read, "translates" them--looking beyond the "oh, isn't that interesting" to get to the possible message and meaning. His theory that coincidences are similar to dreams and can be interpreted as such changed my whole perception of coincidences. That alone was worth the price of the book.Overall, a very interesting and illuminating book that may change the way you look at the world.
