The book provides knowledge on matters related to rural financing; lending and borrowing. It calls its readers to be introduced into the concepts and effects of transaction costs, determinants of Agrocredit repayments and the effects of multiple borrowing to small growers. The text is practical and exposes its readers with wealth of ideas which are most significant and important aspects in loan repayment by small holder farmers. Credit play a central role in smallholder farmers' development but this is only possible if it is accessible and reasonably priced. Where smallholder farmer' succeeded in accessing credits, the cost of funds (interest rates) is high, sometimes leading to non-performing loans. The government intervention through the Bank of Tanzania, as the regulator and policy maker should intervene to lower interest rates and transaction costs to protect the credit firms and borrower farmers. In addition, the banks and other financial lenders should forced to capitalize on educating the borrowers the on the all matters pertained to loans' costs and servicing.
