If this is the title published 1940, joint authored by Mary Brooks Picken then my review is for the right one:
This has more patterns and how-tos than ANY needlework book- antique or modern that I have ever seen. Tatting, embroidery, knitting, crochet, sewing, quilting, rug making, and rag rugs too! - and it is CHOCK-full of patterns! This book for the patterns alone is so worth it. Of all the needlework or how to books there are, by far this is the best one you could buy. Even if you know how to do all the crafts in this book, just get it for the patterns.
The 30's style illustrations are just wonderful. There also is a pattern for embroidery initials such as for napkins, linens, and it's in a beautiful "moderne deco" style you will just love.
