This book discusses the selection of the competition horse, stable management, fitness and basic training, with special attention paid to specific areas such as lungeing and long reining and dressage,... This description may be from another edition of this product.
This has been my go-to book for getting our event horses fit for the levels for years. The detailed fitness plan in the book is absolutely wonderful and can be dialed back (sometimes way back) for those competing at the lower levels. I feel it was the key to my successes in the long formats with my horse. Another review mentioned needing to convert meters to yards. I don't feel that it is necessary since all the US courses are measured in meters, and the speeds are in meters-per-minute. Again, one of the best books out there for a "how-to" on eventing.
Great resource

This book has some excellent exercises for dressage, jumping and cross country. There are some great diagrams of jumping exercises, especially for those of us that don't have access to an entire competition course for day to day training. It also includes how to get and keep your competition horse fit and happy. The only problem I had was it is a UK book, all measurements are in meters, so if your in the US you'll need to translate to US measurements.
