Competency-Based Education (CBE) in Ecuador

This paper analyzes the main characteristics of the Ecuadorian curriculum, as well as its shortcomings and problems to be addressed. It is impossible to consider all the realities that education must face, but it is possible to estimate those that represent the majority of the population. Of course, many of the problems described here are not exclusive to Ecuador and many of them are associated with elements that are difficult to deal with, such as economic, political or social issues.
