Competence as a pedagogical category

Here we explain, describe and illustrate in extenso why competence is considered as a productive work strategy, a method for solving problems, why it is a know-how, a "macro-skill", similar to professional protocol; that, as a strategy and method, it comprises a logical sequence of tasks, and therefore its development and/or learning is based on the task, as a cell of instruction, insofar as the system of tasks constitutes the fundamental part of the classes or lessons for the development and/or learning of competences, applying the didactic principle of Learning by Doing, in order to achieve mastery, skill or expertise; a methodology totally opposed to the transmission of knowledge of the traditional school.
