Two books under one cover

Don't be fooled into thinking this is a new book in the series. It's The Life of the World to come AND The Children of the Company, repackaged with a new name on top. That said, the entire series of Company books rocks. Don't miss it. I'm not crazy about time travel tales in general, but this series is written by a history expert with a great sense of humor. It's thoughtful, educational, fun, and it has a 500,000-year-long, nonlinear plot that doesn't depend on paradox. Excellent characterization and plenty of intrigue with a bit of philosophy on top. Interesting, strong female characters. What would happen if immortals lived among normal people, how would they run the world, and what kind of world would they end up with?
