Growing up was never easy for Marty. Although her parents loved her and her siblings, as well as each other, army life meant they moved home fairly frequently. The lack of routine, coupled with a strict upbringing, meant that Marty rebelled as a result. While growing up, having treatment for poor physical and mental health as a child and then as a young adult, dealing with a controlling mother, as well as being a single parent, are just some of the obstacles thrown Marty's way. Turning to good friends and the church for support, Marty gradually picks up the pieces of her life and moves forward. That is until another bombshell is dropped...
