A WICKED MYSTERY

Irene S., A reviewer, March 11, 2004, A WICKED MYSTERY! From the opening page, this is an engaging read: colorful characters, convincing details, and lots of intriguing development. I got so immersed that I think there really is a Detective Mort Hopkins out there on the streets of St. Paul!

All in all, a very fun read!

I enjoyed it a great deal. It is one of those books that is once started, is hard to put down. A local audience will enjoy not only the story line, but also all the local geographic references, plus the wonderful Minnesota mannerisms that we are also so familiar with. Give me more of Mort!

Well developed down-to-earth characters, fast paced action throughout, and near seamless scene transition made this a novel to not put down. Suspenseful, humorous, appropriate use of violence; I want to hear more of this detective's exploits.

This book has everything a murder mystery needs...Violence..romance....humor. It was a very good read.

comeuppance

The book was great! It is reminiscent of a Charles Willeford novel, set in Minnesota. The charactors are true to life and Greis brings out some of the squalid aspects of the so-called Minnesota nice. It is fast-paced and never boring. I can hardly wait for the next in the series to be published.
