The pride of a believer is not in the acquisition of things. Earthly achievements are not bad in themselves but the real pride of a believer is their knowledge of God. No matter what you possess if you don't have God, you have nothing. It is difficult to believe these things because we need the things we chase but this doesn't change the fact that our pride as a believer is our knowledge of God.
