It describes and includes numerous Standard Model calculations from the phenomenologist's perspective, which are essential starting points for generalizing the calculations to new physics. Ellis et al. have a good complementary text, QCD and Collider Physics (Cambridge Monographs on Particle Physics, Nuclear Physics and Cosmology).
