Chance only wanted a purpose in this disarrayed world. Make that a disarrayed city whose mayor misuses his power to create absurd laws, such as needing written permission to give away anything for free. That was exactly the law Chance needed to break daily in order to carry out his purpose. His purpose was finding neglected toys, repairing and placing them into the hands of children in need of happiness in this cold, lonely, cruel, helpless world. But a human being can have more than just one objective for his life. Chance always wanted something worth putting up a fight. Friendship.
