Refuge (2012) suggests there are many kinds of search for sanctuary, in part 1 through unique identity, in part 2 by those achieving dubious kinds of stability or identity. Part 3 looks at specific refuges, and part 4 explores attempts to find security through surroundings and those close to us. Here and Now (2015)...'is a reflection on how the present engages with the past, and how their connections...resonate within the poet's memory and imagination. The tone is, appropriately, quiet. This is no place for the clatter of experimentation but for the slow accumulation of detail, a comfortable and readily accessible syntax, and the familiar language of every day. It makes for a coherent collection in which the lack of surprise is compensated for by the recurring motifs.' (D.A. Prince in London Grip, 2016)
Bridging the Gap (2018) Writers are seen as detached observers with an agenda but how do they include everyday realities? How closely does anyone understand familiar surroundings, events or people? The final section explores how various kinds of love and friendship can close many of these gaps.
Alive in Winter (2023) Uncertainty is a major theme. It is shown to be perplexing, moving, even uplifting, as found in personal relationships, and behaviour in both the human and 'natural' worlds. Doldrums and peaks in 'creative' work add further perspectives, and throughout the presence or absence of love and appreciation is crucial.
