Colectivo Acciones de Arte: Radical Democracy

By Andre Mesquita

"We therefore say that the work of expanding the habitual levels of life is the only valid art form...the only work of art that lives." --CADA, Ay Sudamerica

Founded in Santiago, the Colectivo Acciones de Arte (CADA) developed eight public actions between 1979 and 1985, intended to broaden dissent within the city. This catalog accompanies the first exhibition dedicated to their work, which confronts the violence, repression and squalor across Chile under Pinochet.
