Alhough this book is specifically about ColdFusion, it does have a chapter on performance, and gives details how to both monitor and test the performance of a ColdFusion server. The basics of performance testing are presented in context, showing how and why it should be used in a professional setting. ColdFusion from Start to Finish

This book covers all aspects of the ColdFusion technology and provides information for both beginner's and advanced users alike, covering both server administration and CFML development. While I didn't get anything out of the "introduction to CFML programming" chapters, I think a beginner would find them more appropriate. This book really shines when it gets into the new ColdFusion MX features such as ColdFusion components and Web services. The chapter on XML was especially good.
