Cold Moon Home

(Book #2 in the Abby Silvernale Series)

Fall is coming to Bantam, NY, the small town where Abby Silvernale waits tables at the InnBetween. Seasonal business is slowing down and her boss, Dulcie, is forced to cut back on shifts, leaving Abby no choice but to take a part-time secretarial job -- as an amanuensis -- for Norman, a ninety-one-year-old sculptor with a crumbling memory. When the flamboyant and needy Germaine LeClair breezes into town, having just written a successful book about Tuscany, Abby discovers the newcomer has a long history with the domineering old sculptor. On the surface, Germaine seems to be all she claims, but there is something from her past she isn't telling. At the restaurant, Dan the dishwasher quits and Dulcie hires Fritz, a man Abby distrusts from the moment she meets him. As Fritz gradually seduces and isolates Dulcie, Abby stands by, powerless. And when long-hidden secrets, revenge, and greed erupt into violence, Abby must fight to survive in this stunning sequel to The Dark End of Town.

Great pacing; many twists and turns

This is the second book in this series from Pomeroy and I enjoyed this one as much as the first. Her character has developed into someone I would be happy to know. The writing kept me completely engaged wondering what was the solution to the mystery. Her characters, setting and dialogue are done so well that it separates Pomeroy from other mystery writers I have read. It was a book I looked forward to reading but hated to finish. I really liked being in that restaurant setting that, not doubt, Pomeroy really knows well. If you want a good read, this is the book but you may want to start with the first Abby Silvernale book, Dark End of Town.

Cold Moon Home

From the very first page, Miss Pomeroy's book 'Cold Moon Home' captivated my interest. I found it difficult to put it down and read late into the night. The characters are well grounded and the plot cohesive. A thoroughly enjoyable read with many twists and turns. Waiting for the next one!

Cold Moon Home

Just as I finished Ms. Pomeroy's first book, The Dark End of Town, I received this second book in the series. The author gives Abby just enough edge to keep her believable, and to enable the reader to put themselves in her shoes. This story was equally as good as the first, if not better. I love books that have my mind constantly going back to the book to think about the story while I'm doing other things. I couldn't wait to get home from work to finish this one. This is one series I really hope will continue. I would love to hear more about Abby Silvernale's adventures in the real world.
