George Lucas...you need to make this story into a movie

As I read this book I kept saying "This would make an excellent movie". Michael Murphy has the gift of telling a story that draws you in and holds you, and "Class of '68" is one of his finest! This holds a treasure for readers of all ages...it brings back a lot of memories for those who where there, and educates those who came after....and explains a lot of what was going on to those who were too young to understand.

Class of '68

I wanted to read this book because i actually graduated high school in 1968. As we get older, we forget more and more what we lived thru while in high school. This story reminded me of everything we dealt with in that year. What the soldiers went thru over in Viet Nam was just not really told to the general public. We just saw the mounting body counts on the evening news. There were so many historical happenings from January until I graduated in June...The Tet Offensive, My Lai massacre, MLK was assassinated, college campuses were full of protesters, and Bobby Kennedy was shot and killed. Boys were burning their draft cards, and trying everything they could to get out of going to Viet Nam...this book will explain all sides. I think that every school system should have this book as required reading in the classroom....maybe the young generation will see why people my age arent really crazy...we just lived thru some crazy times! Excellent book

Get ready to ride

I just fininshed reading Class of '68 last night and am still thinking about it this morning. If you grew up in the 60s, get ready to be taken back in time and experience all the emotions of that era. Class of '68 captures the very air we breathed during that tempestuous time. I recommend Class of '68 to anyone who enjoys good literary historical fiction. Be prepared to ride many emotions as you read this well-crafted novel...from the first sentence to the last.
