England. The winter of 1944. And as the last grim months of the Second World War grind to a close, three members of an Irish Republican unit - two brothers and their downtrodden sister, Kathleen are on the run, wanted for passing information onto the Germans, pursued by the "rat-catcher", a British Army officer with good reason to see them hang.
