Very authentic story that reflects the Colorado/New Mexico/Oklahoma during the turn of the 1800/1900 centuries. The language used is authentic and the places accurate in their descriptions. Very well done and a good read.
A Worthwhile Read

I don't generally read fiction, but I'm glad I made an exception for this series. This book starts slow, but it keeps picking up steam. Between following his quest to rescue his grandchildren and reminiscing with him on his youth and life as a mountain man, Coker Owen Ford is a character of which you, "jest cain't git inuff." I finished this book and jumped right into it's sequel, "Coker, The Last Switchback." Now, I'd really like to see a biography of the author, who obviously knew the history and the locations he mentioned in the books and had to know something about overcoming rough times and obstacles, too.
Coker: A Mountain Man's Story

This is one of the greatest books that I have ever read. I don't even usually like stories of this kind, but this one is unique. The first chapter doesn't have as much action as the rest of the book does, but it introduces the story to you. After that, as you travel with Coker all the way to Oklahoma, you won't be able to put the book down. It is full of action and excitment, along with love and compasion. I can't wait until Wesley Arlin Brown writes another book!
