Old fashioned, but great 1960s laser history

Pretty well all the early, original & significant papers related to Lasers ( & Masers) get a mention here, and it's fascinating to see how the story emerged. Harvey's use of THz throughout can get annoying, but there is still plenty to learn from perusing this simply massive book. (by the way - it was totally hand-written and hand-drawn originally, never typed)
