Coffee and Cake

Tom Trudgen has an announcement at an impromptu Coffee and Cake morning in the village hall. It does not go well as he inadvertently hands them all an opportunity to benefit from his sudden fortunes, both good and bad. Some quick thinking by the unscrupulous leader of the elderly community makes all of those present complicit in an act of deceit and greed. When a younger couple move into Tom's old house they are overwhelmed by the constant attention of the villagers, which makes them suspicious of a hidden agenda. A series of discoveries within the house confirms their distrust, which results in a confrontation with their neighbours and an ultimatum.
