Peter Stevens arrives from New York City looking for meaning, propelled by visions from a tortured past and a need to escape his current reality. Somehow he finds himself in Nawfia teaching secondary school science. But there is an inner force from centuries past driving the process forwards down to the village of Umuriam. Jets get scrambled. Warships and satellites are repositioned. Extraction and strike teams start training and there are enough Tomahawks on board to do the job.
