Code Red in Cairo
Four kids. One stolen piece of technology. A city full of secrets.
Thirteen-year-old Jake Marlowe has always had a habit of noticing things other people miss. But when his curiosity leads him inside a restricted military hangar, he discovers something far bigger than he ever imagined-and catches the attention of a secret organization known as Shadow Ops Academy.
Jake soon finds himself training alongside three other unusually talented recruits: Nina, a fearless tech expert; Sophie, a master of languages and observation; and Ox, the teammate you want beside you when everything goes wrong.
Their first assignment is supposed to be simple: travel to Cairo, blend in, and help track a stolen guidance processor known as Nightglass before it disappears into the international black market.
It doesn't stay simple for long.
Coded graffiti leads them deeper into Cairo's twisting streets. A mysterious courier refuses to behave like the enemy they expected. Their communications are compromised. Someone seems to know their every move.
And when a trail of decoys, hidden tunnels, rooftop pursuits, and a secret underground auction reveals the existence of a powerful organization called the Syndicate, Jake and his team realize the greatest danger may not be waiting for them in Cairo.
It may already be inside Shadow Ops.
To finish the mission, four new operatives will have to learn the hardest lesson in espionage:
Trust no one blindly-even the people who trained you.
Packed with secret codes, spy technology, daring escapes, hidden passageways, betrayals, and fast-paced action, Code Red in Cairo launches the Shadow Ops Academy series-an adventure for middle-grade readers who love mysteries, espionage, teamwork, and missions where one wrong move can change everything.
