Extraordinary Entertainment!

Why isn't this novel on the New York Times' bestseller's list? The author deals with a controversial and frightening topic in this action-packed, page-turning thriller. This is a much better read than Tom Clancey's Rainbow Six. This story grabs the reader from the first page and never lets go, taking you through a viral nightmare of the worst kind...through one surprising twist after another. Massucci has an extraordinary talent and gives us an experience that is quite unique. Don't miss this one!

Fast paced, intelligent thriller

I stayed up all night reading this book -- I simply couldn't put it down. This was a fast paced, intelligent book. It's rare to find a book that's so much fun to read and so informative all at once. At the same time you are enjoying the thrill of the story and the author's wild imagination, you are also learning so much about genetic engineering and biological terrorism. I highly recommend it!

A Fiction that can become reality

St. Vitas is a disease that as far as everyone is concerned, there is no cure once in the system. This Virus is deadly within seconds. Someone from the Middle East steals the Virus and intends to use it on Americans in America. Code alpha is called into action to retrieve the virus, however, there are ,many people who will die first. The Student who created it runs through her guilt and shame for creating a monstor that someone could get hold of and dispences with ease. This story, although fiction, could become reality in our day. Do we have a defense system to protect us? No we don't. This book is very appropriate for our times. Only God can prevent us from self destruction. The book is all action non-stop from beginning to end, a thriller at it's best. I want to thank Joseph Massucci for delivering a really true thriller to us to make us think about what we are doing to ourselves. A must read book.

New Genre: Techno-Horror!

The action and techno scenes are great, keeps those pages turning. But Massucci's sense of horror is superb. It really nailed me on three levels: the physical (e.g., the death of Colonel Martinelli); the setting (the corpse-strewn ranch with it's flora reduced to white powder); and the psychological (Julie's reaction as she's walking through the virus-devastated ranch, building up to the climax of her finding her father's disease-ravaged corpse). It seems CODE:ALPHA is a genre mix: techno-horror. But, hey, Frankenstein was techno-horror in 1818. This has gotta be a movie.

A real page-turner

I found the book to be a real page-turner, especially those segments on the "plantation" where the toxins were manufactured. As I read, I couldn't help but think this would make a great action movie. In fact, I could see Bruce Willis in the role of "Marshall" and Claire Danes as "Julie." I'm looking forward to the sequel.
