Cockroaches and Geese is a collection of poems that are based geographically in New Orleans, Denver and Tucson. Rather than completely savoring the places and times, the atmosphere in this collection is one of uncertainty based in anticipation rather than dread. The storytelling within this work challenges effects versus causes and loneliness versus love. Anyone familiar with any of these three towns will be delighted with landmarks, everything from New Orleans's Poydras, to Denver's Broadway to Fourth Ave. in Tucson. Many of the poems in this collection were written for The Sophia Ballou Project.
