A Paradigm Shift in Configuration Management

Vince Guess is a pioneer in the field of Configuration Management. He has distilled the highly bureaucratic DoD-style regulations down and extracted the essence of the discipline of Configuration Management (CMII - CM Two). He has jettisoned the useless overhead and has revealed what is fundamentally necessary in order to "document better and change faster" in high-pressure, real-world environments. More than describing just what needs to be done, Vince lays out how to do it with a closed-loop process that encompasses the CM process requirements from the appearance of the first product requirement (problem report or opportunity report) to the use of the resulting manufacturing and field service requirements (product and process data). The insights in this book (and the available CMII training) are well worth the investment in time and money.
