A good beginners book

Carly Stevens is a nice girl who looses her job, and desperate, applies for, and gets, a job as a professional Dominatrix at New York's Club de Sade, a S & M playhouse. She signs up for a BDSM 101 class, to learn the basics, since she has no idea what she's doing, and meets Jesse Hernandez, who's teaching a class about flogging, who also happens to be a private investigator. Jesse then proceedes to guide Carly down the path of her secret desire...submission. Then, the unthinkable happens...a crime is committed at the club, and Carly is the #1 suspect. Club de Sade is a good read, especially for those just entering the world of BDSM erotica. Nothing to rough. It's actually more of a S & M story, as there is little actual bondage. The characters are likable enough, though the author didn't go into any great detail about either one. I never felt like I got to "know" the characters, which is an important aspect for any book for me.

Romantic BDSM with a delightful twist

I really didn't see this one coming! I can't give it away, but there's a GREAT plot twist that turns the whole story on its head! But even without it, I had so much fun reading this book! There's more humor in this one than most of Ms. Thompson's work, but it's still chock full of sexy sexy BDSM. As she often does, Claire takes a woman who isn't really aware of her own submissie nature, and sets about helping her explore it with a vengeance! When Carly takes a job as a professional dominatrix, she really has no idea what she's getting into. When she meets the gorgeous Jesse Hernandez at a BDSM "training class" (how to whip your slave, how to dom your lover, BDSM 101) she pretty much loses it. Hot, funny, romantic and sexy as hell. Another keeper from one of my favorite authors.
