Interesting, deep history of the Galapagos

While there is a lot of 'skip-worthy' material, this book does give a good idea of the history of these islands, dating back to the first recorded interaction. There are some sections which are riveting, such as the history of Floreana and San Cristobal, and the material covered in the 20th century is quite good. Writing style is charming if a bit verbose and it gave me little to complain about. If you're interested in the islands, read this book.
