Great Story

I truly enjoyed reading this book. It is definitely not just a another urban tale. It is a very inspiring and hopeful story that leaves your heart warm. The author is a great writer. She did a wonderfull job creating characters and making you feel for them. It was one of the best novels I have read in awhile. I hope she will soon write another book because I will be the first in line to read it.

Outstanding first book!

I truly enjoyed this novel, Cling to Me, by Gail Mitchell. It is a well written novel about the choices we make as adults. I like that this talented author was able to weave two threads of stories throughout the book. I liked the story of Shawanda, struggling as a single mother to raise her son. She chooses to accept the financial help of Aaron who loves her but is not her son's father. I wondered how many women would identify with this decision. It has inevitable results but I love that the author uses this novel to offer another option to consider when there is violence in a home. I became proud of this couple seeking and following advice. Maybe the decisions she made about Aaron were right, maybe not. Some book clubs will enjoy discussing this relationship. I love Margaret, the lonely Social Worker, in the other story line in this pithy book. Margaret's story of dealing and accepting her lonely life caused me to consider again whether this author chooses to write stories with a lesson. Margaret's dating situation changes, but not as we would have expected. Maybe that is the lesson, when love comes, he may not look as we expect. And how many of us miss something just for that reason. Gail Mitchell is a talented writer. The story is engaging early so that you are drawn into the lives of these characters and you care. Maybe you admire them, like Shawanda, maybe you feel they need to step back, like his mother, and maybe hers sometimes. This is an author to watch. I know I will be anxiously awaiting her next novel

Cling to Me is very easy to read and comprehend, and is beautifully written! Reading this book will keep you spellbound and anxious to find out what decisions the characters (Shawanda, Aaron and Margaret) will make. A page turner of the highest calibre, it will keep you glued to the story of how and why people made the choices they do. Yes, I highly recommend this book. It is a great read!

This is a book that is filled with true-to-life situations and vividly-drawn characters. First-time novelist Mitchell gives us reason to look forward to future works.

This is a very entertaining and easy to read book. The book keeps you wanting more and I am hoping Ms. Mitchell will write a sequel.
