THERE IS AN UPDATED VERSION OF THIS BOOK WITH A LOT MORE CONTENT. THE TITLE IS "INCONVENIENT DATA - A NEW ANALYSIS OF CLIMATE CHANGE BASED ON ACTUAL DATA"Global temperature data are the only hard evidence we have that the climate is changing. Applying standard data analysis tools to the global temperature record reveals a view of climate change that is entirely different from the common understanding. The temperature evidence indicates that the climate is not a chaotic process as has been assumed, but instead it is being driven by powerful, natural, and cyclic forces that have been going on for at least the past 164 years. There is no plausible reason to believe that these natural forces will stop in 2015 which means that it is possible to predict future climate changes with a high degree of accuracy. The projection of future climate in this book is not nearly as dire as the IPCC computer models suggest. There is evidence of warming that may be due to CO2, but this warming does not exceed 0.23 ?C per century. Global temperatures in 2100 are likely to be about 0.1?C above those of 2014 - hardly a "climate catastrophe". If you want to see the evidence that supports these and other conclusions, this is a book you might like to read. The IPCC climate models start by trying to simulate the actual climate and, based on this simulation, to predict what future temperatures will be. This book takes the opposite approach. It starts with the actual temperature data and works backwards to find out what type of climate processes might be causing the data to behave as it does.
