Informative

A very informative book on climate change based on data up to 2008. Woodward did a good job explaining how the Global South are more likely to suffer from the actions of the Global North. (The author used the term "developing countries" which is outdated, so I am choosing to use ,hopefully, current and correct terms. Always open to critique if these are not the correct terms!) On page 45, the author briefly speaks about Hurricane Katrina. Woodward writes, "...many people lost their lives, the city sank into lawlessness, with looters stealing from damaged buildings and violent gangs roaming the streets." Looters? Violent gangs? Sounds racially coded, especially if you recall the public perception and treatment of the Black residents affected by Hurricane Katrina.
