this is the zagats of 'safe food'. restaurants in this guide gave extra thought as to where they get their ingredients/what ingredients to use (ex: oils, water, sources of protien,local, wild). it is not a vegetarian restaurant guide although there are a lot of veggie places mentioned. it is a guide for all kind of eaters. jared has narrowed down the restaurants but your still have to ask your own questions when you are dining as so many people have varied concerns. it is well researched and helpful if you want to find a 'safe' place to eat in NYC.

The first part goes into the why and how to eat sustainably. I truly appreciate the emphasis on bio-individuality and the fact that no one diet can fit everybody. I am also thrilled that there are plenty omnivore-friendly restaurants listed. Thanks for not pushing a vegan/vegetarian agenda!
