Claytonville is a small community in central Illinois in the center of farm country. It has lost most of its businesses over the years because of the automobile and lack of job opportunities, but it still has people who are good and kind. During 1930 Claytonville had several thriving businesses and a population that was willing to help others during the "Great Depression". Having not converted to mechanical means of farming and everyone owning an automobile, these people were very self-sufficient and fared far better than those individuals living in cities. This book contains articles pertaining only to the Claytonville and surrounding vicinities. These items allow you to follow ancestors on a week by week basis, which will help those interested in genealogy. I have included the Cissna Park Community High School yearbook for 1930. Students from Claytonville attended the Cissna Park school once they graduated from their "one room" schoolhouse.
