Stellar

This book is the product of a of a truly gifted writer combined with teacher extraordinaire. Her sense of humor makes it hard to put the book down while her application of theory is real world enough to make one believe that they, too, could be this kind of teacher. I doubt you will regret this purchase.

Knowledgeable and Practical

This book is useful and inspiring for new and veteran teachers who want to hold on to the reasons they went into this profession--to encourage the achievement and success of every child, to create exciting learning environments beyond the textbook, and to continually be a learner themselves. This book will help keep those hopes alive.

An excellent source for ideas and usable tips to engage students in active learning. Chapter 5, Great Teachers Don't Take No (or Yes ) for an Answer, is a practical and clear guide for using inquiry techniques in the classroom. Written with humor, clarity and great respect for the art of teaching.
