Superlative Orchestral Playing from Hungary

I bought this CD for my car CD player. I knew that the Budapest Philharmonic was a great orchestra from other Laserlight CDs. However, on this CD, they have totally surpassed themselves. The playing here is simply gorgeous. I seriously doubt if any orchestra could play this lovely music any better. Just listen to the horns in the final movement of the L'Arlesienne Suite No. 1. If you want a CD for the sheer purpose of providing you with great sounds, this is it. At less than a dollar plus shipping, you cannot beat it.

A nice Budget Recording

Laserlight has some pretty good classical CDs out there, and this is a nice one. Jandor and the Budapest PO come up with a solid and warm performance. The recording is digital, the acoustics are not too far away, and the performance is breezy and nice. You may prefer the Ormandy CD with the same selections, but it is an older recording. Not necessarily better than Ormandy, just a good alternative.
