Class is in Session: The Lesson is Murder

By Ben Patterson

School of Hard Knocks

Kate Fontaine has finally achieved something most bounty hunters never do:

Stability.

The Starsprite is upgraded. The bills are paid. For the first time in years, Kate can afford to choose her jobs.

Then someone offers her easy money.

A routine prisoner transport turns into a running battle across the stars when a leak puts powerful criminals, corrupt officials, and an entire crime syndicate on her trail. Suddenly, what should have been a simple contract becomes a fight for survival.

As if that weren't enough, Kate is stuck training Kevin, a former petty criminal who can't follow orders, can't stay out of trouble, and somehow keeps saving the day.

With her partner Jack and the ever-practical android Menace at her side, Kate uncovers a conspiracy reaching deep into law enforcement itself.

Somebody is pulling strings.

Somebody wants witnesses silenced.

And somebody has made the mistake of putting Kate Fontaine in the middle of it.

Now the hunters are becoming the hunted.

And Kate isn't interested in merely surviving this job.

She's going to finish it.

CLASS IS IN SESSION is a fast-paced sci-fi adventure packed with bounty hunters, conspiracies, explosive action, found family, dangerous criminals, and one recruit who may be either a complete disaster or the key to saving them all.
