Clara May is the legacy created by the determination of two people trying to create a life and family for themselves in a new country. Set in the early 19th Century the story begins with the young Scottish boy full of adventure and an English girl who had already faced enough heartbreak from a young age that she was prepared to set sail for a new life. This couple show unwavering strength and resilience as they build their life in South Australia and then venture into Victoria and the Ballarat goldfields. The story is a creative non-fiction, based on the Author's Great Grandparents, and although it is a historical account it is more so a testament to the human spirit.
