Civil War Source Book: 1997

By Jack Burd

This second edition is a directory of information, items, and events connected with the American Civil War. It is a reference tool for scholars, buffs, and those people involved in the Civil War trade. The Civil War Source Book covers artwork, weapons, archives, and reenactments as well as organizations, internet links, and more. Union Blue or Butternut Gray, reenactor, dealer, or casual onlooker, there is something here for everyone interested in the Civil War. Jack Burd became fascinated by history as a child; he lived near such historic sites as Jockey Hollow where Washington encamped and Morristown, New Jersey, which was the center of a thriving 19th century iron industry. When he started going to Civil War reenactments, he discovered that there were no comprehensive directory of the people, places, and items related to the Civil War.
