haunting

a tour de force by a lyric new poet. the best first book of poems I've read in a long time. Feld strikes me as the heir of deeply meditative poets like Larry Levis. Definitely worth getting.

A real eye-opener

Feld's book arrived in today's mail: I read it in one sitting, from cover to cover. He had me from the first poem and I remained more or less riveted in place, gulping down the poems as a drowning person would air. Having read his work in various journals I was prepared for smart and well-crafted poetry, but seeing all the poems collected in one volume revealed just how immense Feld's talent is.
