Mike has obtained a VISA to travel to India. He wants to naturalize in India but his mother, an elderly woman, will not want to consent with Mike's plan to travel. Mike was his only son; she could not afford to lose him or have his life endangered either by travelling to India or by not fulfilling a custom. Mrs. Martha, his mother's twin sister, besides his father, is the only person Mike knows that can convince his mother to accept his plan to travel. Mike meets with her but his meeting with her does not change his mother's decision. Mike's meeting with Jenneth and his desire to marry her turns out to be another option in his desire to naturalize in India. This, Mike believed, will remove his mother's arguments against his plan to travel but Mrs. Kate has another thing in mind.
