Do Not Waste Money Buying This Book!!

Don’t spend your money on this book, it’s not worth even close to $30. I have been an avid reader for almost 75 years, and have read most of Ken Follett’s books. “Circle of Days” is by far the most boring book I have ever “tried” to read. I was 235 pages into this tome of 700 when I became so bored I couldn’t read another word. The writing appears to be at about a first-grade level and the plot is anemic with no emotional depth. Not surprisingly, the first people to buy it would be those who trust there is a good story inside just because Follett’s name is on the front cover. People like myself. Why would a popular, award-winning author want to offend those who have this kind of trust and faith in him and his writing? Oh and, where are the publisher, the editors, and even the family members hiding? They had to know this work is lacking. Did they all just want to hear the cash register ping one more time? I’m at a loss as to why paper was used up to print this material. Can anyone involve in this project enlighten me?

I was disappointed with this story

I really like Follett's books overall, but every now and then, I think one comes along that is not his best effort. I felt this book was difficult for me. It took much longer to read it because I just couldn't get interested in the story line. I also felt it was an attempt to make an effort to appease the LBQ group. The people connection in this book was not on par, I rarely came across a person that I could connect with, and the overall story was difficult to endure. I paid full price on this one, and felt I got cheated. Perhaps his next effort will be more in line as most of his books, which I enjoyed.
