Cinderella Della is an adaptation of the classic French folktale Cinderella . The Adair house was a happy one, until Della's father decided to remarry! Everything changes when Lord Adair brings home a new wife with her two daughters. When Lord Adair dies the next winter, his cruel wife makes Della into a servant to earn her keep. Della's stepsisters are jealous of her, and to punish her, they mock her, changing her name to Cinderella, because she is forced to warm her bare feet in the cinders left over from the kitchen fireplace each evening. But not even Della's shabby clothes, and lowered station in life could detract from her beauty or change her kind heart. When the King gives a ball for his son to help him choose a wife, Cinderella longs to attend, but her evil stepmother and cruel stepsisters make sure she is excluded! But their plans to keep Cinderella from shining at the ball are thwarted by a fairy godmother who can turn a shabby frock into a dazzling ball gown, frogs into footmen, mice into horses, and a pumpkin into golden coach!
