Cider Dan, also known as Dan Byler (1939-2004) of Spartanburg, PA, was an Amish Lumber Jack. He created this second book of his ramblings. The stories that he has written here give us a view into the Amish life in western Pennsylvania and Ohio. He tells of his early life as a boy and then a young man as he learned the lumber trade from his father and others. Then as a married man with children, he tries to both provide for his growing family and to be in business for his own at times. Then, as an older man, he suffers from an Aneurysm that nearly kills him and then cancer. Though his life, Cider Dan had a great sense of humor and told great stories that will keep you both laughing and crying.
