Including information on CICS/ESA Version 3, this book covers: program control, including the use of CALL, XCTL, and LINK with and without COBOL II; programming with DB/2 and IMS/DLI; file control... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I thought this book gave a valid explanation of cics fundamentals and concepts relating to IBM Mainframe programming. It is an easy to read/easy to follow book that is light in weight yet practical to use as a desktop reference guide. It contains just enough information to help you out when you are struggling with the concepts of cics without overloading your brain with technical jargon. Although by now probobly a bit outdated (shame the publisher does not wish to create a more recent edition? ) it is still quite relevant to the later editions of cics (currently at 4.1 at our site).
